(behind Milford High School) What is BMX?   The sport of bicycle motocross began in the early 1970's in Southern California. It is a type of off-road bicycle racing that consist of a starting gate (for up to 8 racers) a groomed, serpentine dirt race course. The course is made of various jumps, rollers and a finish line. The sport is very family oriented, with amateur and professional rankings. It is also the newest Olympic sport.
